José Ruíz Baeza, quien funge como presidente de la Asociación de Adultos Mayores en Yucatán, dijo, que gran parte de esta cifra no se encuentran pensionados, y muchos de ellos reciben apoyo del programa 70 y más, sin embargo, la ayuda no es suficiente para poder sobrevivir.
Debido a esta razón, acusó a los legisladores de no revisar la situación de miles de pensionados y jubilados; ya que la precaria situación que viven, cientos de adultos deben salir a buscar empleos mal pagados y en condiciones malas, sumando a esto los problemas de salud que muchos de ellos enfrentan.
