De acuerdo con el informe más reciente de la consultoría Etellekt, el actual proceso electoral no es solamente el más grande, sino también el más violento, ya que en siete meses 82 personas con aspiraciones a algún cargo de elección popular han sido asesinados. Rubén Salazar, director de la consultoría, señala que el 90 por ciento de las agresiones documentadas en su informe, suceden en el ámbito local, lo cual podría tener relación con el crimen organizado.

En este sentido, el 69 por ciento de las víctimas fueron asesinadas por grupos armados, mientras que un 12 por ciento fue privado de su libertad y hallados sin vida con huellas de violencia. Las entidades con mayor incidencia de ataque son: Guerrero- 18, Oaxaca-13, Pueblo-9, Veracruz-8 y Estado de México-6; siendo los municipios con mayor inseguridad los escenarios de esta masacre.

“Son municipios que están conectados entre sí. Observamos cómo se están desarrollando ciertos corredores, ciertos blindajes. Lo que te explica es que sí se están enfocando en ciertos municipios, hay una intención por controlar políticamente algunas localidades”, señaló Salazar.
